We chat Chanel’s supermarket sweep, sushi and the Big Apple with model of the moment Sanna Backstrom

So tell us Sanna, how were you scouted?

I was scouted at the Peace & Love festival in Sweden when I was 18, my mother agency Elite Stockholm had their scouts out there and they found me sitting in the crowd next to the stage waiting for the next band to perform!

What’s your all-time favourite fashion show?

I don’t have a favourite but I enjoyed last season’s Chanel supermarket theme. So playful and cute! In my latest shoot I was styled with a Chanel milk carton bag from that collection.

It’s very cute. Have you ever had any model mishaps?

I make mistakes all the time! Having the wrong coloured underwear, I’ve missed like 1000 flights the list can go on but it’s all about learning from your mistakes to make yourself a better model, although I’ve actually never fallen or tripped on my dress on a runway!

Well that’s good. If you could walk in any show which would it be?

Any show.. Jeremy Scott maybe? Always looks like a lot of fun, and Jeremy is such a sweetheart.

So what do you like doing when you have downtime?

When I have a day off I like hanging out with my friends, trying a new restaurant, getting a mani and a pedi, or just lying in my bed with my iPad watching Netflix and eating candy! Haha.

We approve. Out of all the places you’ve visited which is your favourite and why?

New York City is my favourite for sure, there is everything you will ever want or need at any time, any place. And all of my best friends live here right now. I love the energy, the culture, the shopping, the food.

Yeah your Instagram usually shows some pretty good food, if you could only eat two meals for the rest of your life what would they be?

Only two? Sushi and oxtail.

If you weren’t a model what would you be doing?

If I wasn’t modelling I would have a much less varied life, and I’d probably be studying in school.

Lastly, where will you be in 10 years’ time?

In ten years time I will hopefully doing something that makes me happy!
