We get the first look at the brand new visuals from London’s newest unicorn loving warrior princess, Invader Girl.
Invader Girl is a London based singer, songwriter, producer / cyber pop wizard with a penchant for the fantastical. You may actually recognise her as the multi-talented, fluoro-wearing, costume designing Cinnamon Girl who released the fantastic ‘Devil In Me’ in 2012. Two years on and with a new moniker in tow, Invader Girl is ready to mount her unicorn and take on the world.
Born in Denmark and conceived on a tour bus by her musician parents, she sees becoming a musician as somewhat of a genetic inevitability. Invader Girl is a self-professed nerd and passionate music obsessive. She’s on a quest to become the first person of her generation to never have taken a selfie, and she really wants a pet unicorn which is evident as ever in the new visuals for her debut single ‘Starting Fires’.
Talking about the video, invader Girls says “‘Starting Fires all about embracing your fears, and taking chances. I wanted the video to be a playful, fantastical and even at times slightly ridiculous expression of becoming whatever you want to be. Even if that’s a manga space pilot with a pink unicorn! The costumes I designed for it were made with that in mind too”.
