Parisian fashion house Kenzo reveal their AW14 collection of Italian made handbags, ‘Kalifornia’

Kenzo founders Humberto and Carol met in LA twenty years ago, so it’s only natural that their Kalifonia collection is inspired by their sunny adolescence spent amongst west coast beachcombers, bikers and skaters.

The sense of humour evoked in the collection (see the fluffy yellow creation that would be completely at home on Sesame Street) feels like an inside joke that everyone can be a part of. The designers drew inspiration from the materials used in their AW14 womenswear collection, but the Kalifornia bag also features a fabric exclusively developed for Kenzo: Italian rubberised leather.

Meanwhile the interior of the bag has multiple pockets and holding areas, for a Kalifornia girl’s most important items, and with the exterior waterproof it’s ideal for a discerning urban woman with a busy schedule.

With it’s fresh sensibilities so typically Kenzo, these bags are a statement piece for anyone brave enough to make stylish noise.
