PREVIEW: FINCHITTIDA FINCH AW14

Fashion with a cause: identical twin designer duo Finchittida Finch reveal their AW14 collection, The Empress

The third collection from Finchittida Finch has been unveiled in this exclusive preview of the The Empress, for AW14.

The collection pays homage to the courageous women that inspire them both. From Lao Princess Savivanh Savang who campaigned extensively for women’s rights, to their own mother who survived the war.

The campaign features Irish model Li-Ann, who is of Malaysian and Polish decent. She epitomizes the Finchittida Finch woman. She proudly salutes diverse cultures, and confidently reveals her ‘imperfection’ – the impressive scar that runs across her stomach. “We hope Li-Ann’s courage will inspire women to feel empowered by their imperfections too,” the identical duo say.

Each Finchittida Finch accessory is expertly crafted at their studio in Peckham, The designers are adamant in their support of local crafts and independent businesses. The jewellery is gold plated in one of the last remaining UK manufacturers. Every item from the collection comes in their signature boxes, which are screen printed in their studio.

The collection includes show stopping pieces such as their chain mail skirts, high neck chokers, and ornate body harnesses all crafted to perfection to make anyone that owns a piece of Finchittida Finch feel like a casual queen.

After just three seasons, the duo already have a celebrity following, and have created bespoke pieces for Mila Kunis in her upcoming blockbuster ‘Jupiter Ascending’.

Every purchase helps clear bombs in war-torn countries, as the brand have partnered with humanitarian charity MAG (Mines Advisory Group). The collection is available at Urban Outfitters (in London and Paris) and Asos, and on their website, www.finchittidafinch.com
