MFW: DSQUARED2 SS15

Wearing his art on his sleeve, the DSquared2 man acts as a canvas for a pop art fuelled collection making a bold energetic statement for SS15

Fuelled by pop art, and its major figures that played and created in its experimental and colorful world from the ’60s to the ’80s, DSquared SS15 is all about colour, independence and making a statement. The DSquared2 man wears his art on his sleeve.

Referential mash-ups of iconic prints, sketches and graffiti inspired by contemporary American artists punctuate a boxy silhouette whilst patent leather cats are appliqued onto roomy sweatshirts and a monkey is vividly printed on T-shirts and a denim jacket. Meanwhile a devious little monster lurks throughout the looks, embroidered all over cropped jackets, shirts and pants. Acting as endearing additions to the crisply cut separates, the eye-catching motifs make for a collection which is sleek and sophisticated whilst effortlessly fun and energetic in origin.

With sure ’80s sportswear vibes present, a white striped black loose-legged tracksuit in supple lustrous leather features alongside springy white terry towelling and papery nylon, printed with fluorescent camouflage. Soft drop crotch jeans also make an appearance, with worn-in knees representative of the artist at work.

This season the DSquared2 man is an artist traveling the world for a new vision and a bright colour popping vision at that.
