Coconut cocktails couldn’t be simpler! Enjoy the taste of summer 2014 with a little help from Michelberger’s Fountain of Youth
If it’s good enough for the King of Thailand, it sure is good enough for us! Working with a collective of small farmers renowned for the sweetest coconuts in Thailand, the brains behind the Michelberger Hotel have channelled their values – originality, creativity and charm – into one pop-coloured monkey cartooned package. The name of this package? Fountain of Youth – 100% natural coconut water, lovingly cared for all the way from the palm to the bar.
Whilst it’s perfect thirst-quencher served chilled alone, a reliable source advised us of an alternative serving suggestion designed to shake things up a little – Cocktail in a Can – it’s as simple as it sounds. Open the can (hear that familiar PZZZ!), add one shot of white rum, squeeze in a dash of lime, pop in a straw and hey presto! Cocktail in a can! However, if you’re feeling even more adventurous, we highly recommend one of the following:
Low Cal Colada
4ml Golden Rum, 100ml Fountain of Youth, 40ml Pineapple juice, a squeeze of Agave Syrup. Blend with a few cubes of ice and serve on the rocks in a tall glass.
3.5ml of 100% Agave blanco tequila on ice, top up with Fountain of Youth. Drizzle come cassis over the top and garnish with a spritz of lime.
In a long glass take 3-4 roughly chopped strawberries, add a small spoon of raw sugar and mix. Add 4 large basil leaves and a healthy helping of crushed ice. Add 4ml white rum and 2cl of vodka. Top off with Fountain of Youth.
Green Juice (non-alcoholic)
Add 250ml of Fountain of Youth, 1/4 of a ripe pear, 1/4 of a ripe bass avocado, 1/2 a handful of raw kale, a dash of Agave syrup and a peeled and sliced piece of ginger into a jug. Blend with ice and serve with a straw.
Add some fresh ginger and a slice of lime to a hot serving of Fountain of Youth. For some extra heat, add a splash of rum.
