TYPING ROOM

Town Hall Hotel’s eagerly awaited new restaurant Typing Room, opens today.

Typing Room

Located in the Town hall Hotel, Typing Room is a 40-cover restaurant which has taken over the former site of Nuno Mendes’ Viajante. Marking Lee Westcot’s first solo venture, the menu offers a refined European showcase which focuses on the British seasons and local produce. Lee’s creative menu of five snacks, five starters & five mains demonstrates his signature style of innovate yet unpretentious dishes and six-course and eight-course tastings menus are also be available for those wishing to sample the full experience.

Named after the Town Hall’s original typing room where all communications from the mayor, council and judicial system were put to ink, the restaurant has been designed by Ariana Rees Roberts and Lucinda Johnson who took inspiration from the natural environment to create a relaxed and inviting aesthetic for diners. The artwork which decorates the space nods to the restaurant’s East London setting and hotel history.

Typing Room is open for lunch Wednesday – Sunday and dinner Wednesday – Saturday.
