MARFA JOURNAL #2

Today marks the release of MARFA JOURNAL #2, we catch up with Alexandra Gordienko to hear what this issue entails…

Marfa Journal

If Christina Ricci and Vincent Gallo had spent all of Buffalo 66 photographing scenes of rural Americana rather than lying on top of each other in a busted motel, they’d have produced MARFA JOURNAL.

Covering art, music and fashion, MARFA JOURNAL is the bi-annual love-child of photographer, stylist, journalist, and all round “it” girl Alexandra Gordienko and a selection of her closest friends. Here’s Alex on why you should check out her zeistgeist-y new baby: “It’s all about mixing business and pleasure, isn’t it? For the 2nd issue, the MARFA team traveled the length of America getting drunk with Richard Mosse, eating pancakes with Rose McGowan, hanging out in the Hollywood Hills with Alex Olson, drinking Bloody Mary’s with Olivier Zahm and having beers with Tyrone Lebone. Multiple adventures – involving some very provocative ladies – made it all very pleasant to look at.”

All this, intercut with Alexandra’s own photography – which is sometimes staged and obscure, other times personal and raw.

MARFA JOURNAL #2 is on sale May 15 at Dover Street Market.
