“Tuesday afternoon we ride into that enchanting serpent that is the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX.

A game of moving gear from one club to the next and dancing with the early rushing bodies – which later becomes navigating the zombie apocalypse that is 6th street after closing time. It is a river of souls with open lit doors lining the streets for many blocks. It is temptation, joy, filth, satisfaction and/or inspiration depending on where you choose to find a seat. There are the unforgettable surprises like the screaming, growling Japanese performing artist we accidentally caught, the lovely forward spirited ladies with their physical offerings, and the magic of falling in love if only for a few days. The nights after 4:00 am are peaceful and sensual and time slips night into morning in our hidden brick rental house, a restful retreat to the madness a mile away.

This year we played seven shows with every stage bringing different faces and challenges. Somehow we find our way to the shows and everyone has it together like it’s the only show in Austin that night, which allows us to create a unique experience for each bubble we perform in. We left this year with many new friends and listeners who we will keep with us down In The Valley Below”.

In The Valley Below are duo Angela Gail and Jeffrey Jacob from Echo Park in LA. They deliver hushed swirls of male and female vocals forged with dark stories of brooding and romance. In The Valley Below received early support from Zane Lowe and Fearne Cotton at Radio 1 as well as recently performing on the prestigious Letterman show.

Following the release of the single ‘Stand Up’ last year, In The Valley Below will release their eagerly awaited debut 11-track album ‘The Belt’ in April preceded by new single ‘Peaches’. The pair recently toured with White Lies in the UK and Europe along with performing at last year’s Reading & Leeds Festival.

Listen to ‘Peaches’.
