CELINE AW14

Pheobe Philo switches her focus from colour to texture for AW14, read all about it here.

When Pheobe Philo presented her SS14 collection for Celine back in September she really rocked the boat for die hard fans. A brand that had been dictated by simplistic minimalism presenting a collection of bright arty prints, took a lot aback. For AW14 however, Pheobe has wiped the palette clean and taken Celine back to basics with a focus more on textures than the colour palette.

Standouts included the full ribbed knit looks including knitted flares, fur muffs hanging off one of the models arms and wispy fringing on outerwear resembling porcupine quills. Celine always gives us an insight to some of the best outerwear for the season, which will no doubt be sported by pretty much everyone. Coats came in all styles, some were long and cinched in at the waist with fur belts, other cocoon styles blanketed around the models and slipped off their shoulders whilst some wrapped across the torso.

Colour and prints were kept minimal with a few beautiful gingham looks and leopard prints and tones of camel, white, black, olive green and grey with some of the muffs adding pops of vibrant orange. Just like Pheobe does so well it was a cool collection for Celine that will no doubt be imitated all over the high street as it always is.
