Margaret Howell takes us back to basics for AW14, check it out here.
London is often the city you expect to see some of the most eclectic designs from and we did from designers such as Nasir Mazhar and Meadham Kirchhoff, so Margaret Howell is always a refreshing break, a palette cleanser if you will and beautiful reminder that day to day basics are just as important as innovative designs.
And she does them so well, AW14 comprised of perfect black jumpers, corduroy outerwear and calf length skirts, the perfect staples for every woman’s winter wardrobe. As she always does so well, Margaret borrows from menswear with masculine tailoring and long overcoats. The colour palette was muted with a range of grey, camel, khaki, orange and navy with tartan making an appearance in the perfect pair of printed trousers and midi dress.
The show had a cute naive school-girl feel, styled with bobble hats and pulled up socks worn with mid heel sandals, brogues and desert boots. With a very British country feel to it, Margaret Howell has your everyday AW14 wardrobe all sorted.
