We premiere a special live video of one of this years SXSW’s buzz bands PAPA performing ‘If You’re My Girl, Then I’m Your Man‘.

It’s been full steam ahead for the Los Angeles duo since member Darren Weiss stopped playing (barefoot) drums alongside Christopher Owens in surf-rock project GIRLS. A collaboration with long-time musician friend Danny Present gave birth to PAPA, whose name was inspired by Weiss’s grandfather; an alcohol-bootlegging, amateur boxer that had to flee gangsters in Chicago.

The debut album ‘Tender Madness’ draws inspiration from Debussy’s impressionism as well as Otis Redding’s melodic soul and is on the verge of being released ahead of their UK shows in Manchester and London next month. We premiere their live take on track ‘If You’re My Girl, Then I’m Your Man’.
