Last night Prada unveiled the winners of the Prada Journal literary contest.

The Prada Epicenter store in New York transformed into a contemporary ‘theatre of conversation and exchange’ to unveil the winner of the Prada Journal literary contest. The contest, launched by Prada in partnership with Giangiacomo Feltrinelli on 18 April 2013, drew participation of new talents from all over the world.

Contestants were asked to send in manuscripts in response to the query posted by Prada Journal. “What are the realities that our eyes give back to us? And how are these realities filtered through lenses?”Out of the 1,313 attrants the winners were annouched as Mattia Conti, Leisl Egan, Angel Mario Fernández, Sarah Harris Waman and Peng Yang who will receive the amount of 5000 Euro each. Prada and Feltrinelli will then publish the winner’s short stories as a digital book which will be available on prada.com within 2013.

The Event began with a reading moment by Jonathan Ames, Zoe Kazan, Anthony Mackie, Jay McInerney and Gary Shteyngart reading the manuscripts to a class A guestlist including Mamie Gummer, Paul Dano, Giovanna Battaglia, Zani Gugelmann, Christopher Bollen, Sofia Sanchez Barrenchea, Jessica Joffe, Meredith Melling, Michael Avedon, Valerie Bosterand Olivier Rizzo.
