London Fashion Week is here! Princess Julia gives us a London Fashion week preview from some of her most loved designers.LONDON FASHION WEEK PREVIEW: CLAIRE BARROW

LONDON FASHION WEEK PREVIEW: CLAIRE BARROWAs fashion week is fast approaching we sent the fabulous, Princess Julia, down to some of her favourite designer’s studios to get an insight into their S/S 2014 collections. Today Julia heads over to see the queen of leathers Claire Barrow.

We have been coveting Claire Barrows customized pieces for quite sometime now, her use of imagery is what is making us stand up and take notice.

We salute you Miss Barrow as we sit on the edge of our seats waiting for indications of your forthcoming collection.  ‘Every piece has some kind of illustration on it this season whether it be printed, embroidered or hand painted.’ Intricate and abstract, Claire creates a mysterious aura around what she’s up to, ‘I want to create new ideas, or new takes on old ones because it is important to me to invent and go forward.’ ‘I usually start with an idea and then create a narrative to base the catwalk show on.’ she says, adding, ‘I like to think of the bigger picture other than just the clothes.’

For this season Barrow breaks the mold and looks to cast her models from inspiring people around her,  ‘I’m asking fabulous people and dressing them up in Claire Barrow.’ Her girls have, ‘lots of courage, wit and are experimental with the way they take on dressing.’ See, that’s why I heart Claire Barrow, striking out with needle and cloth she celebrates the individual and fearlessly makes her mark with passion and conviction. She’s a designer who knows what she likes.

And the future… ‘Fashion East has been such a fantastic platform for me to showcase my work and a great support for the early stages in my career. I’m still so honoured to be part of it. In regard to the future; you will have to wait and see but there are big plans.’
