4 days to London Fashion Week! Princess Julia gets a London Fashion week preview from some of her most loved designers.

As fashion week is fast approaching we sent the fabulous, Princess Julia, down to some of her favourite designer’s studios to get an insight into their S/S 2014 collections. Today sees Julia visit one of Lulu Kennedy’s Fashion East trio, Ryan Lo.

What are Ryan Lo’s girls made of? Sugar and spice and all things nice.

Ryan’s world is piled high with the dream dresses we love to ‘coo’ and ‘ahh’ at. Great dollops of confectionary delights, wafts of candy pink silk gauze, swaths of glittered chiffon, delicate ribboned florets and fun fur accents are what he’s become known for. He’s feeling optimistic this season, last season’s girl was a ‘career bitch’, but this season is full of hope. ‘Housewives and weddings, domestic bliss, she’s preparing herself to meet someone special’.

Did we hear talk of a wedding dress? Was that an inventive take on an apron I spied? Has Ryan introduced some fabulous accessories into his latest collection? Our lips are sealed but his S/S 2014 collection ‘I Want A Complete Set Of Sylvanian Families’ looks set to fire our imaginations with joy, ‘I feel like I’m making movies or writing a novel’, Ryan explains further.

The girl he’s got in mind is ‘a fairy tale princess, who wants to be loved. The season is Spring, happy and fun!’ Ryan smiles and pulls out a tray of mock sweets, a small doll house (presumably the home of our Sylvanian family), a pencil case topped with fake strawberry’s and cream, a Blythe doll and an animal mask. These are the things Ryan fills his shelves with, the things that inspire him and in turn create the clothes we love to wear.
