In other Linkbait stories, David Gandy turns ice cream investor while Karl Lagerfeld criticises Angela Merkel’s dress sense.
SUPERMODEL ROLL CALL FOR PIRELLI 2014
This year, the Pirelli calendar turns 50, marking half a century of iconic nude photography and the cleverest marketing device for a tyre manufacturer ever. To celebrate the occasion, Pirelli have commissioned Patrick Demarchelier and Peter Lindbergh to capture Miranda Kerr, Helena Christensen, Karolina Kurkova, Alessandra Ambrosio, Alek Wek and Isabeli Fontana. Let’s not get too excited here – they’ve still got some clothes on, but it’s a delicious taster of what the 2014 calendar has in store. [Vogue]
DAVID GANDY, ICE CREAM ENTREPRENEUR
First it was Henry Holland’s ice cream van boutique – now David Gandy’s gone one better and actually invested in an ice cream firm. Wheyhey Ice Cream is low in fat, sugar free, and rich in protein – it actually claims to be a good post-workout treat. We somehow can’t exactly imagine Gandy chowing down on a few tubs after his gym routine, but whatever – any excuse to eat ice cream is fine by us. [HuffPo]
ANGELA MERKEL, YOUR TROUSERS ARE ALL WRONG
Sometimes we forget that Karl Lagerfeld is German and not a fashion alien sent to terrorise mortals with devastating fashion jibes. Fortunately, Lagerfeld hasn’t lost any of his patriotic spirit, and has offered some sage fashion wisdom to Chancellor Angela Merkel. “Madame Merkel should have her clothes made to measure,” he sniffs. We’re fairly Merkel has bigger things on her mind than the cut of her pantsuit. [Telegraph]
MADEMOISELLE C, C’EST CHIC
Another year, another fashion doc – this time about ex-Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld. Produced by the company behind The September Issue, it follows Roitfeld as she launches CR Fashion Book – and from the look of it, it’s set to be just as entertaining as the Vogue documentary. But don’t take our word for it – watch the trailer.
