PREMIERE: FAT WHITE FAMILY – “AUTO NEUTRON”

Boys on dates, raw meat and outsider garage rock weirdness from Brixton’s finest band.

Fat White Family have made a name for themselves as of the most rabble-rousing, blues-soaked garage rock outfits around – albeit with a distinct tendency towards the confrontational. Case in point: remember those guys carrying “THE BITCH IS DEAD” signs at Magaret Thatcher’s death party in Brixton? That’s Fat White Family.

But never let it be said the band’s just a straightforward exercise in protest rock – they’re mining the same rich seam of outsider rock weirdness that Nick Cave does. Hence the video for upcoming single ‘Auto Neutron’, shot by Thomas James on location in the band’s Brixton squat – full of Lynchian homoeroticism and creepy family portraits, it channels the same twisted vibe as their music.

‘Auto Neutron’ comes out on 16th September. Fat White Family play at the Queens Head on 26th July. facebook.com/fatwhitefamily
