Combining sweaters and towel skirts are totally a thing now, thanks to Shaun Samson.
Shaun Samson’s SS14 show gave us a minimally chic view of Venice Beach – in a palette of soft grey and pink, punctuated by the designer’s name scrawled in ice white over black, we saw tousled haired boys in towels as skirts and sweaters so fine they could’ve been crafted from fishing wire.
Now we find out that said sweaters are the work of French company Regain, renowned for supplying firefighters and the French Army with their workwear. So cool it’s quite painful. To wear the iridescent number you’d probably also need surfer’s body, but whatever – you could probably layer it over one of Shaun’s signature oversized T-shirts without losing the effect. Towel optional but preferable for full high fashion meets street hotness.
