Maker have been keeping a low profile since they dropped their epically distorted track ‘Missing’ (think the xx on steroids), but we’re glad to see the band’s put that time to good use – namely, working with Brighton director Laurence Dean to come up with a video to match ‘Devotion’, a proper foot-stamping, Florence Welch-meets-Alpines sucker punch of a song.
“The song is about a hopeless ‘devotion’ between a couple who live together and around each other but not with each other,” Maker told us. “The only thing bonding them and the only time they come together as one entity is during sex – which is just another claustrophobic element of a doomed relationship.”
