Paging Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain and all other Oscar nominees: you can breathe now, Elie Saab’s come up with the perfect red carpet dress.

Despite its inaccessibility and elite appeal, the funny thing about couture dresses is that they’re some of the most seen garments in the public eye. Pictures of red carpet couture are now beamed all over the world, thanks to the Oscar awards season where actresses compete for the prize of being best dressed.

Elie Saab, in particular, has done very well out of the increased exposure. His gowns have been worn by everyone from Keira Knightley to Gwyneth Paltrow – and for good reason. The Lebanese designer specialises in blockbuster frocks: show-stoppingly exquisite pieces that practically demand to be photographed. This collection was no different: ultra-feminine, structured gowns that featured his signature crystalline embroidery, gathered at the bust and hips to give the impression of dresses in flowering, effervescent bloom. Expect to see them on an A-list starlet sometime soon  (our bet’s on Emma Stone).
