With his splatter-y, liquid joy of a video for Soda out and his EP collab with producer Boody about to drop, there’s never been a better time to get to know Le1f. We talked to the prolific producer/rapper when he touched down in London two weeks ago.
When Le1f stepped out onstage for his first London show at Birthdays, nobody knew what to expect. Cue a frenzied hour of booty-popping, ass-shaking robo-dance hip-hop that had even the most dead-eyed hipster shoving people out of the way to get to the the front. We caught all the madness on camera and caught up with him after his show to talk Dizzee Rascal, that Pikachu mask, and why he hates ‘queer rap’.
