Constanța-born clubgirl Alexandra Stan spoke to Wonderland about her blink-and-you’ll-miss-it rise to fame and global chart phenomenon that was “Saxobeat.”

“Mr. Saxobeat” peaked at #1 in the Romanian Top 100 and defended the position for eight consecutive weeks, as well as reaching number one in the Italian, Danish and German charts and three in the UK – how did that feel?

It was an incredible feeling, absolutely amazing. Day-by-day I am living my dream and I am very proud of what I’ve realised so far. I don’t plan to stop now; I have so many things to learn and to offer to my fans.

Have you always had a passion for singing?

Since childhood I dreamed to become a singer. Music is my life, my passion and my love. I knew all my life that singing is what I want to do. Over time I participated in a few music contests and one day I met my producers from MAAN STUDIO; Marcel Prodan and Andrei Nemirschi. Since then we’ve been partners and best friends.

Who would identify as key musicial influences? Who would you be keen to work with in the future?

Wow… there are so many! Michael Jackson; Madonna; Adele; Rihanna; David Guetta; Sia and many, many others. But I’m really mad about Robbie Williams; he’s a story teller, a complete and stunning artist. I would absolutely love to duet with him.

Who do you tebd to take style and fashion cues from?

I like to wear clothes that represent me and I think I succeeded in creating my own style, fresh and sexy and always different. I always take into consideration my team’s opinion, though.

Plans, hopes and dreams for the future?

I’ll have a very busy year; full of concerts and promoting tours. This is only the beginning of my career and I have so many things to learn, so many places to visit and so many fans that I want to meet and sing for. I want to conquer the world!
