Pretty boy Jace Moody from Next talks to us about biscuit dunking and Jessica Alba.

Jace Moody

Age: 22

Hometown: Hull

I was scouted: At the end of 2011. A family friend put me in touch with Next, I went to see them and they took me on.

Hobbies: Just normal stuff. I was a semi-pro footballer back home but don’t play as much now, just have the odd kick around. I also like going for a pint at the pub with my mates.

Current obsession: Twitter, I don’t even realise it but I check it all the time!

Pet peeve: Rude people.

Fear: I don’t really like heights or flying.

Guilty pleasure: Sweets, chocolate and biscuits. If I open a packet, that’s it, I eat them all. Especially when I dunk them in my tea.

Last lie I told: Was probably an excuse to get me out of doing something

Dream job: I would like to have my own business, which will hopefully get going this year.

Favourite childhood memory: Probably playtime in primary school when you were allowed to go on the grass and it didn’t matter if you got your trousers dirty because it was Friday.

Home is: Chelsea at the moment, but home home is up North.

Favourite London hang out: Central London, I meet a lot of friends around there after castings.

Favourite food: Italian. I love bread and pasta, when I was in Milan I literally ate it all day every day.

Dream dinner date: Jessica Alba. I was working at a Ferragamo dinner and she was there. She was just as amazing in real life which was really nice as sometimes when you actually meet someone famous they can be a disappointment.

Favourite movie: Catch Me If you Can.

Least favourite movie: The only film I’ve ever walked out of was Gran Torino.

Favourite cartoon: The Jetsons,

Favourite Superhero: Clark Kent/ Superman, he has good hair and I like that he is also a normal guy.

First gig: Oasis at Heaton Park.

Music I like: Lots of different things. Jay-Z, Drake, Michael Buble. On the way here I was listening to Radio 1’s Live Lounge album.

Most treasured possession: My phone.

Last thing I bought: A newspaper.

Career Highlight: Probably the first time I did a show. It’s a weird feeling because everyone is watching you, I’d never thought so much about walking in a straight line!

Future plans: To keep modelling and also figure out something I can do more long term that I can focus on. In the far far future I want to get married and have kids.

Myself in three words: Determined, hardworking and down to earth.

Nadia Girmata

Age: 21

Hometown: Rwanda, but I grew up in France.

I was scouted: Over a year ago in Manchester when I was coming home from college. I was studying languages which is something I would still like to do.

Hobbies: Reading, listening to music, shopping and I make sure I keep practising my languages. I speak English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguse, French and my African language. It’s good in the industry as you meet people from so many different places, so it makes it easier for me. I wanted to be a diplomat and I think I still would like to study international business.

Current obsession: My job.

Favourite childhood memory: When my sister and I first arrived in France. I was 5 1/2 years old. We couldn’t speak any French and we had never seen escalators before so we played on them a lot!

Home is: Wherever I travel to becomes it.

Favourite London hang out: I like going for treats and shopping.

Dream destination: The whole of Africa and the chance to travel to as many places as possible. I’m sure there are so many amazing things to discover.

Favourite movie: Charlie & The Chocolate Factory with Johnny Depp, I love it!

Favourite cartoon: Tom & Jerry.

First gig: Was a Gospel one, it was so good. It was at Christmas time & they did all the famous gospel songs.

Music I like: Nineties music, I think it’s the best. Music is now all so similar it’s boring.

Favourite song: I have lots. I Wacu is an African band , they’re so cool. They make lots of cheesy music videos.

Couldn’t live without: My computer as I love to Skype with my sisters.

Last thing I bought: Shoes for my brother-in-law.

Career highlight: The Topshop campaign was amazing.

Future plans: Continue modelling and see how that goes.

Cool London lad Josh Tuckley from Select explains why he’s a music nerd and dinosaur lover. After reading this you’ll probably want him to be your best friend.

Age: 21

Hometown: Woolwich

I was scouted: In 2010 around Christmas time. I was working as a welcomer at Topman Oxford Street when I was approached by a guy from Select. At first I just laughed it off but then two other agencies also approached me so my sister told me to give it a try.

Hobbies: I’m a flute and saxophone player. I also DJ and run techno/ tech house club nights. I did a cool one recently that had seventies projections, it looked like something from Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas!

Current obsession: Peanut butter Twix bars and pizza from a place in Notting Hill.

Pet peeve: Bus drivers

Fear: Spiders

Guilty pleasure: Whenever I wake up I have to have a cigarette. I also love going out and am a bit of a workaholic.

Last lie I told: At the train station I pretended to have lost my wallet.

Dream job: I’d love to be sound engineer or do something in sound design. Hopefully I’m going to be working with a company soon that sets up sound systems for gigs. I’m a real nerd when it comes to music.

Favourite childhood memory: Watching TV program The Dinosaurs and playing lots of sport.

Home is: Vauxhall. It’s so hard to secure a place when you’re jetting off all the time but when I am here it’s nice to stay at my girlfriend’s house or with family. I love being around people all the time.

Favourite London hang out: I’ve got a lot! If I’m ever stressed I like going for a walk, I love walking along the river. I also enjoy people watching so like just hanging out around Trafalgar Square or somewhere like that.

Favourite place in the world: London, it’s a beautiful city.

Dream destination: Japan. I stayed in Tokyo for three months and fell in love with the place. I’ve always been obsessed with Japanese culture and really like the way they treat people. I’ve never been somewhere so nice, polite and respectful.

Favourite food: My dad used to be a pastry chef so he got me into cooking. I really love it, I’m considering going to catering college or working in a kitchen. I make a mean Thai curry.

Dream dinner date: Prince Harry. It would be great to see what he’s really like and find out if some of the stories are true! We would probably just have garlic bread anddrinks.

Favourite movie: Pulp Fiction. I also like anything Tim Burton does & old films. I really really love horror films like spanish horror REC.

Least favourite movie: Anything with Adam Sandler. I can’t stand him or Jim Carrey, they really get under my skin.

Favourite cartoon: Alan Gregory. It’s Americans doing English humour really well. There are only a few episodes but they are hilarious, really blunt and dry.

First gig: The Jets when I was 14 with my friend Callum. Then The Kooks. Between 14 and 17 I went to see bands every week. My sister was a big raver so I started to get into house and tech house, going to proper raves when I was 16.

First CD I bought: Marilyn Manson’s Animals and Pink Floyd.

Favourite song: Want You In My Soul by Lovebirds. It’s got happy summer vibes. I love music as it brings back memories of moments in my life.

Most treasured possession: My saxophone. I saved up for so many years to get it, it’s my baby.

Last thing I bought: A really nice t-shirt and I’m pretty obsessed with trainers

Career highlight so far: Going to Tokyo, that was definitely a highlight in my life not just my career. I also enjoyed working with Bathing Ape as I like the brand.

Future plans: I’m saving to go travelling in the near future and I also definitely want to get into sound design.

Myself in three words: Smiley, funny and chilled.

Dream destination: I would absolutely love to go to Australia.

My hobbies are: Hanging out with my friends as I don’t get a chance to do that much anymore. When I’m home I like to go shopping and treat my mum.

Last thing I bought: My Boy London sweater, it’s great now it’s so cold!

The industry’s current obsession with beautiful tattooed boys has only been fuelled further with the arrival of Venice Beach native Jimmy Q from Select, a pro skateboarder and tattoo artist who also models for some of the coolest brands around.

How did you become a model?

I first modelled at 7 years old and more recently I freelanced in Los Angeles. I decided I wanted to live in London so I sent an email to a few modelling agencies and Select were the first to respond.

What were you doing before modelling?

I’m also a professional skateboarder and tattoo artist. I did my tattoo apprenticeship in Venice Beach, California where I grew up. I started practising on my friends and went from there. I did art before tattooing so it made it easier to transition to that medium.

What do you like to do when you’re not modelling?

Tattoo-ing, skateboarding or chilling at home. I’m a real homebody so I like cooking dinner and watching films. I stay at home as much as possible.

What type of music do you like?

I like all music, from country to punk rock. Ray Charles, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan. I’ve been listening to a lot of country/ rockabilly recently.

What’s your favourite film?

Stepbrothers, Pulp Fiction & Reservoir Dogs.

Would you rather be attacked by a big bear or a swarm of bees?

Bears. I’m deeply terrified of bees, I could deal with a bear but not bees.

What shows did you walk in last season?

I just did London. Oliver Spencer and Vauxhall Fashion Scout.

What’s your favourite place to hang out in London?

I enjoy going shopping in Camden

Is there a person in the industry that inspires you?

A number of people in my life inspire me. I’m my own inspiration by pure willpower of overcoming things in my life and achieving things I’ve wanted to. I put everything in to what I want and have always done my own thing. Music also really inspires me and interesting people.

What’s your favourite item of clothing?

My all-black polka dot three piece suit.

When you were a kid what did you dress up as for Halloween?

I dressed up every year. One year I dressed as a traditional cowboy. My godfather worked for the movie industry so he got me a proper old costume. I’ve also dressed up as a nun in sunglasses and a tourist with a black eye.

What couldn’t you live without?

My skateboard.

Do you sing in the car?

I sing everywhere!

What would you like to do in the future?

Succeed and get to the the top of everything I want to do. I strive to be the best.
