Uniqlo this week launched their 2011 UT Grand Prix t-shirt design contest. The theme for this year’s competition is based on Disney’s premier rodent couple, Mickey and Minnie Mouse with the winning designs being used for T-shirt art and sold around the world. Closing date for entries is September the 19th, designs will be judged by a panel of Uniqlo and Disney representatives and the winner will also win $10,000 (which, with the current exchange rate, works out pretty well!). GEAR FROM UNIQLO

Gamer fans will get a kick out of a new Metal Gear Solid inspired range of Tshirts on sale at UniQlo. The new collection comes as a collaboration to celebrate the release of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (out on June 18th) with 10 limited edition t-shirts to collect, each priced £12.99. As an additional bonus, the t-shirts come with a code that, when entered during the new Metal Gear Solid game, enables the character within the game to wear the purchased t-shirt so you can match on screen. Fun! Further more, creator of Metal Gear Solid Hideo Kojima and lead artist of the franchise Yogi Shinkawa will be available to sign purchases on June 19th at the UniQlo flagship store on Oxford Street in London.

The American golf pros have been testing their 9 irons lately and with the sudden appearance of the sun on this side of the Atlantic, it’s reason enough to introduce a bit of golfing inspiration into the wardrobe. UNIQLO have revealed their new wave of polos for summer made from light, breathable fabrics and available in a range of bright colours. Perfect if you want to tee off one afternoon or just to wear in the sun.

That is a Lot of T-Shirts

Since 2003 UNIQLO has taken their T-Shirts very seriously, every year displaying a new theme: linking up with artists, creators, stylists, models and worldwide companies. But it is actually quite hard to appreciate that 1300 design and colours are produced every year.

For 2010 UT (UNIQLO T-Shirts) will have comic strips, game heroes and characters from Japan and around the world emblazoned across their new silhouettes.

Uniqlo are continuing to work with Jil Sander, and so the second +J S/S collection goes into stores tomorrow.

I remember hankering after a bit of Jil Sander when she designed for the company that bears her name - it was way too pricey though.

Both jackets, pictured, will cost £59.99. A snip.
