To launch the Mini Countryman, which is a kind of 4X4, BMW threw a party that started on a boat. Relevant fashion types were boated on a Thames Clipper from Millbank pier to Greenwich, where the group was met by a Routemaster bus and taken to a secret location. Said location turned out to be a farm with real sheep and lots of new cars to oggle at - see one pictured posing in front of the branding board. After a BBQ we were treated to a performance by Timberland, which was amazing.

Timberland - They’re Now All White

img_0689img_0690

As mentioned earlier, the original Timberland boot is enjoying a bit of a renaissance.

Now New Power Studio has collaborated with Timberland to produce a very limited number of Design Your Own 6″ Boots - and this original style has been given an all white makeover.

The ‘all white’ boots (can we still use that catch phrase?) are decorating the windows of bSTORE as I type, and are available now priced at £200.

We are loving footwear right now!

Three’s a Trend

Lulu Kennedy wants a pair, I’ve placed an order and some 15-year-old rich kid, who drinks at my local pub, has made stockist enquiries. Back in my newspaper days I said ‘three’s a trend’ so (presuming that is true) this can only mean one thing: Timberland’s original sandy-coloured boots, that were so popular in the early Nineties, have come back around.

Yikes, I owned a pair then too.

Priced at £130, go to www.timberlandonline.co.uk for further info…

P.S. They also come in black.

Timberland Help Haiti

Timberland started working with Wyclef Jean on a charitable project to support reforestation in Haiti, before the unfortunate events of this month. Since the earthquake money raised is being redirected to Haiti’s relief efforts.

A 16-boot collection, designed by Wyclef and Timberland, and T Shirts designed by Haitian art students, from the FOSAJ Art School in Jacmel, are now available to buy at Timberland stores and on timberland.com. $2 from the boots and all proceeds from each Tee will go to the relief.

Timberland Chukka Black

I remember buying a pair of those ginger Timberland boots back in the Nineties - embarrassing! But I have just seen the Fall 2009 Timberland lookbook, and it is no way embarrassing. The collection takes influences from 1930s and ’40s hunting and military; and the leather has been treated to look worn. Snice!
