SURPRISE SCENT

byredolo_004

Byredo have popped up in the Front Room of St Martins Lane hotel with a temporary shop as part of the launch of their latest fragrance, La Tulipe.  The new scent is inspired by the tulip and is refreshing and light.  Usually on sale exclusively in Liberty and Les Senteurs in the UK, the temporary store offers the chance to buy this new fragrance (as well as the full range of 10 unisex perfumes and 8 fragranced candles) in another central London location.

La Tulipe Store, St Martins Lane, London, W1, open Monday-Sunday 11am-7pm until May 31st 2010.

Liberty are housing illustrator Daisy de Villeneuve’s exhibition “In Her Shoes” on their fourth floor. She picked a selection of her favourite Liberty pieces, and drew them. Cute.

The exhibition runs between 29th March - 25th April.

I was wondering why Manolo Blahnik held their press day in Liberty - it is because they will be opening a pop-up shop where Hermes housed their scarves.

New collections for A/W10-11 include ‘pleated’ and ‘Greek,’ as well as an exclusive custom collection, with limited edition Liberty prints, sketches, shoes and specially designed products - including notebooks, scarves and candels.
Monolo Blahnik for Liberty of London launches on 10th, September.

Jordan Askill’s HEARTS Arrive at Liberty

hrt11heart_ring_wgem_back1hrt12princess_ring_detail1

There is a date that fall in the middle of this month that is camper, and tackier than Christmas. If one does feel the need to honor it either be over ‘cacky’ (that’s camp/tacky) or dreadfully tasteful. If you chose the latter how about these Jordan Askill jewels? Prices start at £120 for a heart ring and go up to £695 for some of the more precious stones. Available now at Liberty.

Window Watch

It is good to see that Liberty are up there with their Christmas windows and mannequins. If you look closely you can just about make out the can of Carling, next to the Eighties stereo.

Liberty - Monica Vinader Launch

Liberty launched a new jewellery line, Monica Vinader, at their store, tonight. They served up some petal-dosed gin and tonics. Very nice. We thought the best way to illustrate MV’s wears, was to wear them! See me (left), with ring; and Ray (right) with ring and necklace.

Liberty Press Day

liberty-4

It is good to see so many creative mannequins out there. With Liberty being no exception. There were also some blue dogs made from tinsel. But less about Christmas, we are on S/S season now, so through it was  to the press day, on the store’s first floor. Liberty London has made an effort to be more creative with their scarves — like this one (bottom right), a screen print of a picture of Mr and Mrs Liberty. They have also blown up some of their classic floral prints — ergo ‘Modern Floral Graphics’. The Marni men’s short suit also stood out (bottom left). The nibbles were Indian themed: great Indian cakes and savory snacks.
