JADE FOR GUERLAIN

sjjcp

Guerlain, Paris, is one of the oldest perfumers in the world. In 1925, the fragrance Shalimar was created, encouraging women to celebrate their sexuality (long before the sexual revolution of the 60’s), encourage their sense of exploration and successfully assimilated vanilla into the fragrance world. Now the Parisian fragrance house has enlisted Jade Jagger to design a new bottle for the fragrance to continue these celebrations for a new generation of adventurous women. Bold and contemporary, the new bottle plays homage to the original bottle and also returns the signet of Guerlain to the bottle; tied to the bottle around the neck with a delicate ribbon. Jagger herself will be appearing in Harrods on September 8th for the launch of the new bottle.

Handy Bag/Jacket

image0022image0041

This looks right handy - a raincoat that turns into a bag/a bag that turns into a jacket. Part of Jean Charles de Castelbajac’s A/W 2010 collection.

If you pick up a spot shopping on your way home the garment can be folded and zipped into a holdall, alternatively, it can be unzipped revealing a water-resistant hooded anorak. Hopefully it isn’t pouring with rain when you need the bag, OR too full when it starts to rain.

Great all the same.

£300 at Harrods.

New Look: Press Day

The children’s department of Harrods scares me a bit. It is the prom dresses for five-year-olds. Too fussy, too spooky.

Don’t mind these spookers (below) though, part of New Look’s suped-up children’s range.

The top shots are children’s too.

Whoopie Pies

mini_whoopies_1

I’m bringing you this as I love the name ‘Whoopie Pies.’ They are exclusive at Harrods and following the success of the regular ones, have just been release in mini size, £1.25 each.

They could be called Whoopie Pies because they look a bit like Whoopee Cushions. But I think they look a bit like something else…shhhhhhh (macaroons).

Harrods Designer Jewellery Breakfast

 mummy-rocks-pendant_1ac924a
Harrods held a designer jewellery breakfast, yesterday at 8am. I couldn’t make it because it is my Nan’s 90th birthday week! But I did ask the press office to send me some images of some their exclusive jewellery collections.

Stephen Webster, John Hardy designer Guy Bedarida, Shaun Leane Alex Monroe and more took to their counters, in the store, to talk about their work.

Pictured is Stephen Webster’s ‘Mummy Rocks’ pendant, which I am told caused the biggest stir. The silver, sparkling Swarovski crystal piece costs £295, and is available at Harrods and the Stephen Webster flagship from 2010. The locket is part of a series sold to help raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

lfp003bw

We catch up with a very busy Hannah Marshall who preparing for her upcoming London Fashion Week show.

Wonderland: Describe the favorite piece you have made…

Hannah Marshall: One of my favorite pieces is the Spine Sleeve Dress, from the Spring/Summer 2010 collection, which debuted on the catwalk at London Fashion Week. Anthony Unwin [Wonderland magazine’s Fashion Director] recently asked me to create this piece especially for his shoot with Janet Jackson; and she is wearing it on the front cover of the new Wonderland magazine - [available from February, 4th folks!]

Wonderland: What time are you up and working on a normal day?

HM: I normally set my alarm for 7:00am, accidentally (on purpose) I press my snooze button until around 7:30am - then run around in a panic to get myself out of the door and on the train to London

Wonderland: Do you take a lunch break or eat at your desk?

HM: I normally multi-task by eating at my desk, in front of my Mac, but pre-fashion week it’s more like dinner by the time I actually get chance to think about lunch!

Wonderland: Who are your stockists?

HM: Harrods (London), Opening Ceremony (New York, LA, Japan), 10 Corso Como (Korea), Luisa Via Roma (Italy), UK Style (Russia), RA (Antwerp), I.T (Hong Kong), Fashion Lifestyle (Russia), The Convenience Store (London), Apartment C (London), Ma Mode (Glasgow), Amelie Boutique (Online), Noema (Russia), La Coquette (Jordan), Farenah Concept (Bulgaria) and K3 (Japan)

Wonderland: What are your aspirations for the near and distant future?

HM: To continue doing what I love.
