Wow! Giuliano Fujiwara have just revealed a selection of accessories that will be on sale for Autumn/Winter 2010 that almost makes us want to skip through the sunny months and straight back into winter so we can get our hands on them now. Bringing fresh designs incorporate footwear, eyewear, gloves, bags and jewels, it’ll be a few months before these items will be in stores, but in the mean time feat your eyes upon them instead and don’t go wishing the summer months away too much…
Masataka Matsumura and Shun Kawakami are long term friends. So it seems pretty rotten that Shaun poured black ink all over six shirts from Masataka’s menswear collection for Giuliano Fujiwara - where he is creative director.
But I’m only kidding, these shirts will be part of a display in the Milanese flagship store, during Milan Design Week, from 13th, April. And the patterns are typical of the graphic artist’s acclaimed work. They will be joined by two 180cm x 180cm square panels also decorated with graphic patterns; and a group of everyday objects - such as skate boards that have been given a completely different identity.
The in-store exhibition will open with a cocktail reception on Tuesday, 13th April
Italian-Japanese fashion brand Giuliano Fujiwara have announced they are expanding into womenswear from Autumn 2010. Creative Director of the brand, Masataka Matsumura, will be expanding his creative flare into women’s fashion for A/W 10/11 and the above sketches provide an outline of what the ladies can expect when the collection debuts at the upcoming Milan Fashion Week.
Giuliano Fujiwara are branching into accessories with this selection of pure geometries created using gold, silver resin, ebony and inspired by the Japanese aesthetic philosophy of Wabi-Sabi. The collection will be on sale through Giuliano Fujiwara stores and available from Autumn/Winter 2010/2011.
At the beginning of the year, Giuliano Fujiwara opened it’s Italian flagship store in Milan and now, as the year comes to a close, they have cut the ribbons on a new store in Rome. Opened this week and located inside a charming building at 52 Via Frattina, the new store reflects the aesthetic of the Milan store and houses the latest Giuliano Fujiwara designs - definitely worth investigating during the next visit to the Italian Capital.
Italian and Japanese inspired fashion giants, Giuliano Fujiwara, and revolutionary denim experts, Closed, have both seen their labels flourish since they launched in the 80’s. They have now embarked on an exciting new venture that brings both names together in a new partnership that will give birth to an exclusive capsule collection.
The new collaboration will be launching during the upcoming Pitti Uomo in Florence (June 16 – 19) and will be distributed by Closed to male customers in Europe and by Giuliano Fujiwara for those in Japan.
