Swap Shop

image

Here’s an idea: over the summer KesselsKramer London and Colette in Paris will be orchestrating a shop swap. Colette will temporarily reside in Hoxton Square, well some hand-picked products and artwork; and KK will exhibit some of their art in the Parisian store.

Tres good idea, and I can smell others following suit.

London Dates
Shop Swap: 2 July – 28 August
42 Hoxton Square. N1

Paris Dates

Comic Feet

The sun does funny things to people. On Saturday night a couple of pals and me took a local stroll in search of a pub. People were outside the first three we passed singing at the top of there voices. We walked on by.

These trainers are a bit of fun. colette, in Paris, invite Italian footwear brand Superga to design Super Hero-themed trainers as part of their collaboration with DC Comics - for their 75th anniversary.

Just a TAD

tadtad2tad31tad4

TAD is a concept store on Via Del Babuino, Rome. Like 10 Corso Como, Milan and Colette in Paris it is a terrible chic one-stop-stop for all sorts: fashion, including Giles, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Guy Laroche and Derek Lam; interior; flowers; music; art and lunch. They even make their own textiles. Loves.

Cult Japanese Streetwear Brand, A BATHING APE® launch EUROPEAN WEBSTORE.

The season’s full collections will be available on-line the whole of Europe, rather than just through the London flagship store and Colette in Paris.

New stock will arrive daily although, like in the stores, there will only be limited quantities - or else it will just be common, innit.

CUBESTORE

I finally visited the temporary Cube Store at the Boiler House, Old Turman Brewery, Brick Lane. The space is pretty amazing and scattered with things worth some eyeteeth, collected by Colette. Varying so much it is hard to explain. But a stylish paper plastic cup holder, with an equally stylish paper coaster included, comes to mind, £7.50. Of course there were more expensive items such as a car (pictured below) by the pop-up store’s sponsor, Nissan. The model is one of Japan’s most popular automobile, and, on first look, you ask why: it looks slightly special. But once inside some idea of its appeal comes to life due to the plunging comfort. See how at home me and the very gorgeous Luke Freeman look. Prices start at £14,000. The space is open until early January.

Laduree is Exclusive Once More

During Paris Fashion Weeks it was Laduree the industry would visit, picking up boxes of macaroons known as the best there were. Until a couple of cafes opened in London, and the loss of exclutivity equaled loss of interest. Now for anyone wanting parcels of sweetness, only available via the Eurostar, head to Colette - for a cotton candy variety of macaroons, presented in a blue dotted box.

Available from December, 12th. www.colette.fr

Little Boots Loves House of Holland

image
Henry Holland custom-made the one-sleeved dress that Little Boots wore on stage at Glastonbury. Apparently she text Henry to thank him as soon as she received it. Quite right. The runway version of the fine wool number will be available from Browns Focus and Colette at the end of August. To achieve the glimmering effect Henry covered the dress in Swarovski crystals - typical him!

BOYS CLUB GET THE ICE CREAM WHILE IT’S HOT

Here is a small preview of something we can expect later this year.  Luxury street clothing lines, Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream have looked to the galaxy for inspiration with their AW09 range.  Bringing an astronomic edge to their Japanese manufactures lines, both Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream have developed their new collections with a “wealth is of the heart and mind, not of the pocket” approach, creating fresh prints and icons for their preppy products, emulating the style of founding member, Pharrell Williams, along the way.  The new collections continue to use established brand staples such as the running dog jean and curve logo sweat, but with added twists as well as adding new graphics and designs to the now infamous history of their line.

Both labels are highly exclusive being available in approximately 50 stores worldwide, including Dover Street Market in London, Colette in Paris and Barney’s in NYC.  The AW09 range will be dropping in from July.
