TRACK BY TRACK WITH FLYANA BOSS

The pop-leaning alternative hip-hop duo takes us track-by-track through their new EP, “This Ain’t The Album.”

“This EP is called ‘This Ain’t The Album’ because this is not the album,” Flyana Boss tells us about their recently released project. “This is a statement piece from us to just say, ‘this ain’t the album.’ In this era, we are feeding fans with more music. We’ve gained so many fans in the past eight or nine months, and these are the songs we’ve been working on during that time. And we want to give it to the people!”

Since meeting at music college in Los Angeles, Bobbi LaNea and Folayan — the duo behind Flyana Boss — have been defying genres and making waves across the industry. Committed to breaking stereotypes, championing female friendships, and building a strong community, the two MC and multi-instrumentalists capture hearts with their refreshing authenticity. Witty, hilarious, and entirely one-of-a-kind, Flyana Boss is unlike any other act out there. After supporting the likes of Ke$ha and Janelle Monae on tour, they have released their new EP — a project that promises the duo is destined for even greater heights.

“We’re currently on our first headline tour, The Bosstanical Garden Tour, and it’s very reminiscent of when Janelle Monáe took us on tour last year. We’re so grateful that she did that because we learned so much, and now we are doing it on our own. This is a victory lap for us,” they add. “And when we do release an album, y’all are gonna know that it’s THE album. We’re here and we are ready to give what the people want.”
