Amongst the most captivating and creatively stimulating names in US rap, Maryland-born Rico Nasty is known for defying convention. With her robust punk attitude merging effortlessly with sharp technical nuance, her sound borders trap, hyperpop and techno amongst other sub-styles. She’s worked with a plethora of industry-leading talent, from Charli XCX to Fred Again, Megan Thee Stallion to a recent inclusion on Schoolboy Q’s new critically acclaimed album.

Known for her artistic tenacity and dexterity, it’s no surprise to see Nasty bring something entirely different with her latest release. A joint project with German-Iraqi producer Boyz Noise, “Hvrdcore Dr3amz” is weird, wonderful and full of sonic surprises. Nasty’s ability to sound at home atop a wide-range of instrument palette is only further proven across the EP, with the erratic, electro-tinged beats from Boyz Noise proving a launchpad for some of the rapper’s most entertaining performances in recent years.

“VVGINA” –
Influenced by some German stuff Boyz Noise was playing me that day. I really love the bass on this one. This one’s about dancing through the pain. Hidden gem I fear.

“H.O.T” –
This one’s for summer time top down. Let the haters know some. Give the lurkers a show. Making this was so refreshing and reminded me that everything doesn’t have to be so serious all the time.

“Arintintin” –
She’s the life of the party. I loved this song immediately after I made it. And I couldn’t wait to share it with you guys.
