British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson finds himself at the cusp of a significant year, with two major projects on the horizon. He’s set to star in The Fall Guy, alongside Ryan Gosling, and the upcoming Sony-Marvel film, Kraven the Hunter. Yet, if the buzz wasn’t enough, whispers have emerged pointing to Taylor-Johnson as the successor to the legendary 007 franchise.

The murmurs began in 2022, hinting that the (also) Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging star underwent a private screen test at Pinewood Studios. If the gossip checks out, he would step into the esteemed shoes of Daniel Craig, who bid farewell to the role in 2021 after a remarkable 16-year tenure. The upcoming instalment, the 26th in the Bond series, follows the recent No Time to Die.

Though these rumours remain unconfirmed, Taylor-Johnson recently addressed the speculation in an interview with Numero Magazine, expressing his appreciation: “It’s charming and wonderful that people see me in that role,” he remarked. “I take it as a great compliment.” The 33-year-old actor was reportedly in the running for the job alongside Oscar-winning Cillian Murphy, Idris Elba, Henry Cavill, and James Norton. With bated breath, fans await official confirmation.
