LOUIS VUITTON × TYLER, THE CREATOR

Pharrell Williams enlists the American rapper and producer as his first collaborator for LV’s menswear.

Whether it’s on the runway or on social media, Pharrell Williams is undoubtedly making history following in Virgil Abloh’s footsteps. With streetwear-drenched collections and pieces that draw crowds to pop-ups all around the world, Williams seems to have mastered the power of virality — a move that’s only confirmed by his latest announcement, as he enlists the American rapper and producer to design his first capsule collection for Louis Vuitton’s menswear.

For the collaboration, the duo stages an instinctive union between both visual universes — a fusion of the signature preppy sophistication popularised by the artist with the elegant dandy dressing established by Pharrell Williams at the Maison. Think matching denim sets and dungarees, a grass-green take on LV’s classic monogram, saturated accents, and knitwear that has us dreaming. As the creative director of his own fashion brand Golf Le Fleur, the collection brings golf references to the forefront of their aesthetic, including a Sac Golf and a mini cross-body golf bag.

“Tyler has been my close friend and collaborator for years, and we’ve always connected on music and design. This collaboration is unique to Louis Vuitton because it’s a natural extension of our LVERS philosophy, building on our network of incredible artists and creatives,” says Pharrell. “There are so many elements specific to Tyler built into these pieces, and it’s been inspiring to see him hone in on his craft and collaborate with him for this Spring collection.” It’s easy to forecast a massive hit!
