Always one of the most highly anticipated shows of the season, Eckhaus Latta did not disappoint. For their AW24 presentation, the power was in the details. Ornate patchwork, funky knit patterns, playful mesh, and delicately precise stich-lines held our utmost attention as models — including Paloma Elsesser — walked to the sound of Lana Del Rey’s “hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have”. In the industry, hope — alongside perseverance, tenacity, a sense of purpose, a unique point of view, not to mention talent — are crucial to play the long game. And with over a decade of experience under their belt, design duo Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta know a thing or two about what it takes. Pairing intricate detailing with bold hues and statement shoes, the collection struck the perfect balance between calmness and strength — a poignant message on how to make it as an independent designer in New York.
