PREMIERE: RACHAEL SAGE – “DEEPEST DARK”

The New York singer-songwriter offers up dazzling decadence with her new visuals for the album standout.

Revered singer-songwriter, poet and producer Rachael Sage has been on a straight road to success since first emerging over two decades ago. She’s built a diverse and impressive catalogue of music, releasing an array of albums, and has toured alongside the likes of Howard Jones and Imelda May.

Last year saw Sage unveil her latest body of work, The Other Side, a mature, heartfelt and cohesive project that further cemented her acclaim. Augmenting the project further, she has today returned with a visual accompaniment for one of the album’s standout tracks, “Deepest Dark,” a track which Sage opens up on: “It was such a moving experience because it’s a song I wrote as a teenager about friendship. It came to mean so much more when I decided to finally include it on my current album, The Other Side, which is about transcendence.”

The gorgeous video is directed by Lee Malone, and sees Sage performing in the historic Asylum Chapel in London. Describing the location as “beautiful, but also impossible not to feel the presence of those impoverished souls who had once filled the chapel, yearning for an end to hardship in difficult times,” the singer-songwriter felt it was the perfect setting for “a song about unconditional acceptance and loyalty.”
