SWEET SPINE — “DARKNESS”

The South Carolina-based rising band looks like shoegaze’s brightest stars in the new music video for their viral hit “Darkness”.

Sweet Spine is here to fill the Kurt Cobain-shaped hole in the hearts of alt-rockers everywhere. Following the release and success of their new single, “Darkness”, the South Carolina-based band announced today a new music video that will give fans a sense of what it might be like to attend one of their increasingly frequent shows at larger and larger venues throughout Columbia, Greenville, Charleston, and beyond.

The music video won’t disappoint if what listeners are expecting is a dark trip, as suggested by the title track. It has been filmed in locations ranging from a literal abandoned asylum to a graveyard to a misty lake straight out of a horror movie.

In “Darkness”, listeners are immediately struck by the powerfully dynamic instrumental arrangement and haunting vocals from 19-year-old lead singer Fox, bringing to the forefront of their music inspirations from bands that formed their musical upbringing, such as Nirvana, Deftones, or Bright Eyes.
