Only good visual experiences can be expected from the marriage between a tech powerhouse and a viral artist like Stephen Sanchez. Unveiling his debut album, Angel Face, the Nashville-based singer-songwriter teamed up with Lenovo to create cinematic live visuals, offering fans the opportunity to discover the electric and seductive story behind his newest musical project. This year’s Limitless Possibilities campaign marks the fifth year Lenovo has collaborated with established and celebrated artists and musicians to help bring their creative visions to life.

The concert was filmed in Nashville using the latest Lenovo and Intel Evo technology, which includes the newly released Lenovo Yoga Book 9i and Lenovo Yoga 9i. “I’m so excited to partner with Lenovo to create this visual representation of my music,” said Sanchez. “It’s been so much fun experimenting with new ways to bring the world of ‘Angel Face’ to life – I can’t wait to take everyone behind the scenes with this livestream.”

While eagerly awaiting the grand release, which will be streamed tomorrow on October 3rd on Sanchez’s channel, we sat down with the artist to discuss his craft, the new album, and what lies ahead in his career.

When did you first fall in love with creating music?
One of my grandfathers lived in Oregon, and we’d drive up to see him about two times a year. He would whip out his guitar and start playing for us, and I loved hearing him sing songs. I also grew up in the church so I was surrounded by a lot of gospel music, and I got to watch how deeply music can embed itself in people’s lives. I loved getting to see how it can impact someone on such an emotional and physical scale. It really inspired me as I was growing up.

How would you describe your sound?
I would describe it as sob in your car, dance in your kitchen songs. I feel like that says it best. I put myself under the genre of singer/ songwriter, which allows me to branch out.

Can you tell us a bit about the origins of Angel Face? When did you start working on the album and what were your biggest inspirations while writing it?
It happened pretty naturally. The songs fell out naturally. We started writing the record back in December, so we got to spend a lot of time with these songs, rip them apart, and put them back together again. But, I think the story came together very quickly once we established the characters.

Who is “The Troubadour Sanchez” and how did this story come about?
Those characters presented themselves fairly early on as we started writing and developing our story. This whole record is a story surrounding the Troubadour Sanchez, his secret love with Evangeline and her trying to escape her boyfriend, Hunter. I wanted to present the different parts of love and tell a story that wasn’t entirely my own, but told through these characters.

Did you always know you wanted to create a visual component to the album?
Absolutely! I wanted the visuals that we’ve made to match how cinematic the story is. It’s been so much fun to experiment with new ways to bring the world of Angel Face to life—I can’t wait to take everyone behind the scenes with this livestream. Fans will get an inside look into my creative process while hearing and seeing me perform the album for the first time

How did you first get connected with Lenovo? What excited you about the potential partnership?
I have been a fan of Lenovo for a while now and when they approached me for this opportunity, I was excited to jump on board. This partnership gave me the chance to do something special for my fans and bring my first album to life.

What was the actual process like of actualizing this idea with Angel Face: Live Visual Album?
To pull this off, we partnered with Nashville based production partners Evolve Studios. A key part of this was Lenovo’s Yoga Book 9i and Yoga 9i, which streamlined productivity and enabled us to create an entirely unique cinematic performance experience.

How does the visual representation enhance the music itself and add another dimension?
I hope my fans will be able to experience and visualize the songs just as I imagined, and this will give them an inside look into part of my creative process of the album.

What are you most excited for fans to see with this project?
Everything!
