Hey Nuria! How has this year’s fashion season been? Particularly, how is Paris treating you?
This season I have had the pleasure to be in Paris with Dior to attend the SS24 show. Paris is one of my favourite cities, especially when it is sunny and warm like these days.

When did you start attending fashion weeks and do you remember your first Dior show?
The first time I was in Paris for fashion week was in September 2021 – the first season to happen after the pandemic. My first Dior show was the Dior SS23 show, which happened exactly a year ago! It was such a surreal moment; I still think about it all the time.

Can you tell us about your look for the Dior SS24 show?
It is from the Dior Pre-Fall 2023 collection that was presented in India. It is a blend of purple and turquoise maxi knit dress with a semi-open back. I paired it with a beaded Mini Lady Dior in Purple and a pair of Dior Day Slingback Pump.

Did you have any expectations for the collection or show? Did anything surprise you?
Before the show I had watched the teaser and read about the legacy of superstition in the Christian Dior House as inspiration for the collection, from which I thought this season’s show set might be full of magic with elements of the universe. However, I was surprised to be greeted by a very modern set design – LED wall screens covering the room displaying colourful vibrant graphics. What surprised me the most are the graphics by Elena Bellatoni, referring to the stereotypes of women throughout history but in a satirical way. For example there was a graphic of a secretary with the quote “Your secretary know how to do it faster.”

Loved it.

Did you have a favourite look from the collection?
Not one but many! Although I love to explore and wear colourful outfits, I feel the most confident in neutral tones such as black, white, and beige – the main colours of this collection! I was so happy to see a more rebellious side of Dior: the transparent dresses, black mesh and lace, moto leather jackets and long blazers.

What’s your #1 go-to fashion week essential?
Coffee!!! I have one first in the morning, at noon and another one after a big meal.

What makes a show stand out to you?
I think what makes a show memorable is the feeling it gives you, the aftermath where you think back on what you had just experienced and try to find the details to justify for the emotions. To me fashion shows is not only about the collection but the ethos behind it. For instance, the Dior show SS24 had a clear message of empowering women and addressing the gender issues that has existed for years. The messaging is what makes a show stand out to me.
