FENDI’s AW23 collection explores classicism and elegance through the lens of artistic director, Kim Jones. Through subtle subversion and inspiration from the wardrobe of Delfina Delettrez Fendi, Kim has successfully captured the instinctive sense of self-expression in her own personal FENDI archives.

The collection plays with binaries: the exploration and elevation of deconstruction; the interpolation of gendered archetypes and the disturbance of ladylike sophistication. We see this shine through masculine tailoring and traditional fabrics twisted into feminine forms. In a perfected perspective on punk, knitwear features cleanly slashed or gently warped, further showcasing the magnificent interjection of themes within this collection.

Speaking on the collection himself, Kim Jones explains, “It all started with Delfina. There’s a chicness but a perversity to the way she twists FENDI, which is what I love. It’s deconstructed, but luxurious. There’s a little nod to punk, and my admiration for DIY, but moved on to something more chic.”

The collection also debuts the new FENDI Origami handbag, whereby Silvia Venturini Fendi pays homage to that multipurpose sensibility so important to the house.
