Where did your love for singing/songwriting originate?
Since I was a little girl, I used to sing at home with my family, in the kitchen or anywhere I could. I had a broomstick that I would use as a microphone to perform for people. My family has been supportive of me ever since those early days singing in the kitchen, up to when I decided to dedicate myself to music.

What do your Argentinian roots mean to you and your music?
The roots of Argentine music are very important to me. My grandfather would sing tango to me, and I promised him that someday I would do the same. So, during one of my Buenos Aires shows, when he was in the first row, I invited a couple to dance tango for him.

How would you describe your sound and how has it developed since you started out?
Currently, I am in an experimental phase with my music. ALMA, my new album, is a clear example of this. I spent a good amount of time in the studio working on this album, which very much represents who I am. Every album I’ve created has had its own process and timeline. Each one reflects what I was going through and the sound I wanted to convey at that particular time. Nothing symbolizes the process and the phase I am currently in more than ALMA.

Who have been your main musical and non-musical influences so far?
I’ve always mentioned Amy Winehouse as my greatest musical influence, and the same goes for Tupac.

We’re obsessed with your latest releases. What has the process been like behind your new album ALMA?
As I mentioned earlier, the creation of ALMA has been a process. It’s an album of personal healing, in which I invested a significant amount of time in the studio. Together with Tatol and El Guincho, we managed to perfectly encapsulate what I wanted to convey to my listeners. It was a beautiful process filled with learning.

What is the most meaningful song to you from ALMA and why?
I believe “YA NO” is the most meaningful song to me as it clearly demonstrates, through both the song and its video, the healing journey I embarked on with ALMA.

We see you have a career within acting too. What was your experience like on the Netflix show, La Firma?
Incredible! The experience of shooting La Firma was amazing. I really connected with the contestants, and the jury was filled with colleagues that I really like. I am eagerly anticipating the second season and looking forward to seeing them again.

What does the future look like for Nicki Nicole?
Well, that’s a good question! The future is all about connecting with my audience, whom I’m eager to see again, and continuing to create music, which brings me the most joy.
