Rihanna’s back, baby. Returning from her five-year performing hiatus to take centre stage at this Sunday’s Superbowl – fans are bursting at the seams with excitement.

The bonafide hitmaker has a wealth of tracks to choose from, and this seems to be where the anticipation is mounting. Imagine: the lights are low, and there’s a feeling in the air that the show about to start. The lights rise slowly, as Rihanna belts – “NANANA COME ON!” – as the sensational “S&M” graces our ears. Or, what if the booming bass line and vocal percussion “BUMBUMBEDUM” of “Disturbia” suddenly reverberates throughout the stadium. It’d just be too much to handle!

However, at a press conference for the hotly-anticipated event Rihanna revealed that condensing her entire 17-year career into a 13-minute set has proved a hefty challenge. Reflecting on the process, Rihanna imparts: “The setlist was the biggest challenge. That was the hardest, hardest part, deciding how to maximise 13 minutes… That’s what this show is going to be, it’s going to be a celebration of my catalogue in the best way that we could have put it together.”

Our calculated guess is that it’ll be a little bit of everything. Something old, like the bangers we’ve mentioned, and something new like the couple of searing tracks she blessed the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever with. Either way, we’ll be tuned in. Will you?
