Living and breathing in the City of Angels – the rising band Starcrawler is imbued with dreamlike sensibilities. Known for their hard-hitting guitar riffs, Starcrawler takes it back to the basics, crafting up a pared-down acoustic track.

Building a world akin to a contemporary Hollywood Babylon, frontwoman Arrow De Wilde, guitarists Henri and Bill Cash, drummer Seth Carolina, and bassist Tim De Franco have carved out a place for themselves in the LA music scene. Blending together a rich repertoire of musical references like LA’s X, The Go-Gos, The Rolling Stones, and The Distillers – Starcrawler are bringing gritty rock to a whole new generation. In “Stranded”, De Wilde’s crooning vocals meander between a grounding piano, and a blend of twangy and soaring guitars.

Speaking about the new release, De Wilde reflects: “We wanted to put out an acoustic version of ‘Stranded’ because we liked playing around with the song and taking something that’s upbeat and stripping it down,” she explains. “On tour, we got to play some of our tunes acoustically, and there was something so cool and intimate about it. We recorded a couple other songs off our new album in a stripped-down setting, too, and we’re hoping to put out an EP of them next year.”

On top of evolving their own sound, the members of Starcrawler have widened their horizons – going on to collaborate with rock legends like Mike Campbell, as well as the late (and great) Taylor Hawkins and Perry Farrell. Having opened for the likes of My Chemical Romance, Jack White, and Nick Cave – there’s no doubt in our minds that they’ll soar to great heights.
