Contributing your handiwork to an album that hit number one in 75 countries could be the zenith of many a musical career. However, for Marcus McCoan, co-writer on BTS mammoth hits “Mikrokosmos” and “Jamais Vu”, his own career as an artist is only just beginning. Exhibiting his flair as a performer in his own right in the live video of track “Try Me”, Cornwall artist McCoan blends the frontman credentials and indie-pop sensibilities of the likes of The 1975 with the pristine vocals of The Weeknd with compelling effect.

The performance is merely a hint at what’s to come, however, from an artist who is still to release debut single “Phase Me” in November. It also allows him to flex his showmanship in anticipation of a run of gigs across the UK with no other than nineties sensation Natalie Imbruglia, as he prepares to support her on her Left of the Middle 25th Anniversary Tour in October, taking in venues including London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

Head below to catch a glimpse of Marcus in action, by watching the “Try Me” live video right now…
