The genre-bending pop singer-songwriter finds fortitude in grief on latest single.

“LUNGS’ is a song I wrote a month after my grandmother passed away,” Evenson explains. Whilst being in the desolate expanses of grief, the 24-year-old, Connecticut-native found an outlet as well as direction in creating. “I wanted to make a song that expressed my feelings of claustrophobia and hyper-anxiety, yet offered a hopeful silver lining,” he says. “Because in the end I always want to survive.”

Evenson’s brand of vivid, genre-traversing pop is the perfect lexicon for such a sensation to be told through. His candid and unalloyed lyricism melded with irrerisistible melodies, taking inspiration from everyone from ABBA to David Bowie, seal the deal on “LUNGS”, a cut that continues to mark him out as an nascent voice of influence in the alt-pop sphere.

“LUNGS” follows viral hit “HOW CAN I SLEEP” in 2021, a track that, to date, has garnered one millions streams on Spotify, and latest single “DEVIL INSIDE” in June. We can’t wait to hear more from this pop-maestro in the making.
