While we recover from the biggest fashion event of the year, we are now in the mood for some beauty. Thankfully, the Met Gala served a side dish of blinding beats — and our Instagram feed has been serving them all week. Featuring Gigi Hadid’s birthday look, Dua Lipa’s off-duty styling and some Met BTS selfies, scroll below to see the looks we will be attempting to recreate this weekend…

Simone Ashley left no crumbs at the MET

Marking a slight departure from her regal Bridgerton fits, Simone Ashley served the perfect slice of classic Hollywood glamour with a smokey eye and slicked back ponytail. Contrasting her golden Moschino bralette, the actor incorporated deep wine-red hues into her shadow and lipstick, with a rose-tone washed over the top of her cheekbones. Paired with a dramatic diamond choker and droplet earrings, the beat is serving opulence — and Simone owns everything.

Dua Lipa said plaits all day every day

Not to be dramatic, but there is nothing worse than a hair-wash day. Thankfully, Dua Lipa came to the ‘grid with the ultimate hairstyle for the days we simply can’t bring ourselves to do it. Slicking back her locks into a high pony, she fashions multiple plaits, fastened with some multicoloured elastics. As a result, Dua Lipa has become our new favourite trailblazer of the Y2K aesthetic.

Iris Law embraces her inner Elsa

Peroxide blonde locks, icy shadow and a powdered beat: Iris Law is coming for Elsa’s bag. Lightly dusting a cool-toned pastel blue across her lids and under-eyes, Iris keeps her beat looking natural with a hint of warmer contour. As for her signature buzz, she slicks it down into a side part. Finishing it off with a frosted pout, Iris diverts from her usual edge for a look of total elegance.

Megan Thee Stallion keeps us on the edge

When it comes to Megan Thee Stallion’s beauty looks, the drama is kept to the edges. From her slanted extension sets to her perfectly laid hairline, Megan’s style is just as clean-cut as it is mesmerising. And while her snatched beat never goes amiss, her extravagant costume jewellery elevated her status to a whole new level. Featuring sapphire cocktail rings and some multicoloured geometric hoops, Megan adds just the right touch of fire to her ice.

Adut Akech has us green with envy

Keeping her Met look all things emerald, Adut Akech practically sparkled in her intricate diamond choker and oversized cocktail ring — marking the perfect balance between extravagance and elegance. Painted with a neutral base, her glowing skin is framed by a string of wispy curls that pull back into a sultry low ponytail. Polished with a set of feathered lashes, Adut truly left us all green with envy.

Gigi Hadid does birthday glam best

There’s rarely a time when Gigi Hadid does not eat up a look for an event, but making that extra effort for her birthday party last week, she came through with a Victorian-inspired look with a dash of Euphoria flair. Going back to her roots with a bleached blonde hairdo, she keeps her skin tone neutral with an added touch of peach at the cheekbone. As for the eyes, she opts for an extra-thick wing while dotting silver-toned gemstones over the lid and below her lashline — perfectly coordinating the layers of jewels and pearls draped across her neck.

Kaia Gerber’s hair was a paid actor

A moment of appreciation for Kaia Gerber’s hair, please. Voluminous, dramatic and timeless, her pin curls made a statement all of their own.

We never thought we’d be jealous of Charles Melton’s teddy bear…

Finally, doing beauty for the boys, we have Charles Melton and his double-layered jewels. Pairing some gold chains with a beige blazer and some sunnies, Charles Melton keeps us all firmly in a chokehold — rendering us speechless.
