Yes, The Weeknd is known for his exceptional vocal ability, the likes of which captivated us once more upon the release of his latest album, Dawn FM. But, one of the most hype-worthy qualities of his artistry is of course his affinity for serving up the trippy visuals that dreams are made of.

Looking to remind us of this fact once more, the musical sensation has dropped the music video for “Out of Time”. Recruiting Squid Game star and current it-girl HoYeon Jung for his latest set of visuals, an iconic and TL-shattering pairing appears before our very eyes as the video commences, and things only get better from there. After the duo catch each other’s eyes in an elevator, they proceed to grace a karaoke bar and galavant about their hotel as they bask in the bliss of having newfound crushes. But, just as we thought we were in for an unusually sweet, tame and unproblematic display from The Weeknd, he served up a trip worthy of the name. With a blood-filled champagne bucket, a set of aged hands and Jim Carrey making a cameo as a surgeon all flashing across the screen over the course of a few seconds, we are once again left questioning the entirety of the track, its base meaning and themes.

Regardless of the slightly traumatic ending, we will be watching this video on repeat for the rest of the day.
