Let’s be real, no one wants to find themselves competing for the attention of a potential love interest. But, electropop artist Laura Jinn wants to tell you that there is beauty to be found in this competition on her newest track. Dropping “Gasp”, the singer contemplates the intimacy that forms between two people who find themselves in a bid for the affection of the same person, a complex yet poetic theme. With an otherworldly sonic tinge prevailing thanks to experimental production layering underneath the artist’s haunting vocal tone, the track, while focused on human emotions, manages to transport itself past the barriers of our world when it comes to its sound.

When discussing the meaning of her newest release further, Laura explains, “‘Gasp’ is about the ecstasy and agony of jealousy and the intense, peculiar relationship between two romantic rivals. No one understands the beauty of the one you love like someone else vying for their attention. I think that relationship is beautiful and precious.”

With the captivating new release standing as an exciting introduction to the sounds of the Ohio native’s 2022 and the release following on from the drop of her debut EP, “Sick!”, it is fair to say that we cannot wait to see what Laura Jinn will do next.
