Many Netflix releases have received widespread anticipation, but none have caused quite the stir that Sex Education season 3 has. Thanks to the first two instalments of the teen comedy receiving rave reviews that lead to a swelling of the show’s loyal fanbase, the wait for season 3 has been an arduous one for many. But, thanks to Netflix, the wait just got a little bit easier, as the streaming service unveils the official trailer for the show’s third season.

Setting in on Otis, Maeve, Eric and Amy on their scenic commute to Moordale High, the trailer reunites fans with their beloved characters instantly, all of which seem to be perfect replicas of their season 2 selves – well, all except Otis, whose admirable-yet-failed attempt to grow a moustache sets a comedic tone. But, as we are introduced to a stern figure labelled as a new headmistress, hellbent on restoring the reputation of the scandal-ridden high school, the trailer takes an unexpected turn. While still filled with jokes, sure to induce raucous laughter, the firey teenage spirit the show has become known for and drama courtesy of a flash at Otis and Ruby embroiled in some sort of public relationship, themes of the acceptance of sexuality, turbulent friendships and love begin to emerge, signalling an unexpected growth and coming-of-age for the cast.

Set to take over Netflix upon its release on September 17th, prepare for an explosive season 3, one that is bringing your favourite band of teens back to your screens in their forever-hilarious, and dare we say more mature, way.
