It’s September, and you know what that means – this month is all about fashion. And what better way to kick off a month set to play host to the prestigious Met Gala and multiple fashion weeks than the reveal of Riccardo Tisci’s Burberry AW21 collection?
With a beautifully candid campaign, that mixes editorial shots courtesy of seasoned photographers Mert and Marcus and vibrant backstage shots lensed by Chris Rhodes, at the helm of the collection’s debut, Riccardo and the British fashion house have ensured that vivacious energy beams out of the collection from the offset. And, with duality on the brain, stylist Katy England, along with Burberry’s Global Beauty Director Isamaya Ffrench and hairstylist Paul Hanlon ensured that while masterful clashing on fabrics, looks and styles prevailed in each snap of Burberry’s AW21 collection, the display remained unified in nature.
And while duality was the main focus of the campaigns imagery, the clothes themselves only added to this. From glitter ball-esque high neck party dresses and cropped capes adorned with the infamous chequered Burberry motif to shaggy fur coats complete playful rabbit ears, the varying sets of garments that lace the collection tell a diverse and deriving tale drenched in the brand’s affinity for the great outdoors, making the collection a sensory and thematic delight to behold.
