When it comes to comedy, very few movies have been able to compete with the outrageously witty humour and stellar casting of Superbad, until now. Drawing on the infamous comedy’s premise, To Be Real is the upcoming Billy Porter-directed queer teen comedy set to have you in fits of laughter.

Described as a cross over between the Seth Rogen-written coming-of-age masterpiece and Booksmart, the upcoming teen movie sounds as if it is a comedy fanatics dream. And, with the film boasting a loose plot that promises to focus on a group of queer teens’ quest to attend New York Pride, movie fans can expect a uniquely imagined and hilariously written project. With Gabrielle Union’s I’ll Have Another Productions at the helm of the movie, and Billy Porter set to join as director, it becomes clear that the Amazon Studios release already has a powerful creative force ushering it towards its inevitable success.

While further plot details, release dates and cast members are yet to be unveiled, the movie is shaping up to be a laughter-inducing display set to capture hearts, just as Superbad did.
